Attila KreiterBernadett BajnócziMária Tóth We selected fourty samples from Celtic vessels from the site for macroscopic and petrographic analysis. The samples can be divided into nineteen sherds containing graphite and twenty-one without graphite.

Sixteen fragments with graphite can be assigned to situlae-type vessels, two to storage vessels and one to a bowl.

Among the sample without graphite content there are biconical cooking pots 3jug 1cooking pot 1flask 1bowl with S-profile 1bowl 1cooking pot with swollen rim 1deep hemispherical bowl andstorage vessel 1. The aim of the analyses is to gather information about the manufacturing techniques of the Celtic ceramics of the site, with special attention to building techniques, raw materials and tempering materials.

The results should reveal if there is a relationship between composition groups, building techniques and vessel types. During our investigations we examined that in what form the graphite was used in the vessels of Dunaszentgyörgy. Whether it was imported as raw graphite, as clay mixed with graphite or as finished vessels with graphite temper.
